The E-Series ATC300 350 is directly compatible and recommended for use with our E9x E8x E6x conversion kit. F-Series ATC35L is also directly compatible but uses a different actuation motor that is not compatible with most controllers. G-Series ATC have a slightly different mounting flange but can be used with modification/basic bolt hole adapter bracket. Larger ATC500/700/45L variants also fit the transmission but will not fit the E9x E8x tunnel or align with the front differential. Other custom ATC/Differential options that are not directly compatible may be possible but fitment cannot be guaranteed. This kit is not designed to fit Twin Turbo applications. You will have MAJOR fitment issues due to the rear turbo inlet interfering with the adapter plate/bellhousing. While it is possible to make room for the inlet by significantly cutting the adapter plate/bellhousing we instead recommend using our Dodge 8HP70/75/90 Transmission Adapter Kit which is designed with a unique recessed "pocket" to allow fitment of the rear turbo inlet. Are modifications required to fit the 8HP70/75/76 or 6HP28/6R80 assembly in the E9x E8x E6x? Single Turbo Applications - Currently no modifications have been required to install this transmission in the E9x E8x E6x chassis with a Single Turbo Kit. Starter bubbles and exhaust fitment have been tight but fit well. That said we do not 100% guarantee no modifications are necessary due to numerous different Single Turbo Kit/Exhaust configurations. Starter bubble covers are included with the kit to close off the two open areas of the bellhousing where the adapter is designed for a slim profile. This slim profile also allows you to completely remove the starter bubbles entirely to make the transmission profile narrower at the 3 and 9 O'Clock positions if desired for additional room but has not been necessary. Please contact us prior to purchasing with questions about fitment for your build. What Starters are compatible? •OE BMW N54 N55 S55 Style - Minor Modification to Bellhousing Required for Clearance of Starter Nose. What Torque Converters are compatible? OE BMW N63 8HP70/75/76 Torque Converters – OE core can be modified for higher stall speed if necessary. Aftermarket options may also be available that are directly compatible. While any 8HP torque converter will physically fit inside any other 8HP due to variances we can only guarantee fitment with these recommended options detailed above. If you have a specific 8HP converter you would like to use instead please consult with us before hand about a custom torque converter/pilot adapter assembly. What driveshafts are compatible? OEM, M3, Ford 8.8? RWD - OE BMW Flex Disc (Guibo) style driveshafts with 6HP/8HP 96mm, 105mm & 110mm Output Flanges. Ford 8.8 & similar 1350 U-Joint driveshafts are directly compatible with the RWD 8HP AWD - OE E9x 335xi driveshaft and similar 2-Piece AWD driveshafts. May or may not require modification depending on several factors such as engine placement, differential used etc. Please consult with us for further assistance if you aren't sure about fitment. What about the transmission cooler setup? Our Kit includes components to adapt an existing AN8 or AN10 transmission cooler. 8HP AN Adapter, 8AN PTFE Line Kit w/10 fittings, 10AN/8AN Reducers & A/T Radiator Block-Off for deleting OEM Cooler. OE Cooler is not Recommended/Compatible. Add AN Cooler Core & Thermostat to complete your cooler setup. Not sure what parts you need? "Transmission Control Unit" is the computer which controls the transmission much like an ECU/Engine Control Unit. 8HP Standalone TCU Options – MaxxECU, Turbo Lamik, CANTCU, Sound German etc. 6HP/6R80 Standalone TCU Options – US Shift Quick 6. What is required to install the Standalone TCU? The complexity of standalone installation greatly depends on the controller chosen, its capabilities & components supplied. Some have plug & play wire harness options while others will require intermediate to advanced level wiring to make your own harness. What are the differences between the Ram, Durango, Jeep, Charger & Challenger 8HP? We recommend using the Ram "Truck" version whenever possible for lowest cost and ease of installation but ultimately each customers build goals & budgets should be factored in as well. The "Truck" versions of the 8HP has two starter bubbles, smooth bore transmission line ports & factory 1350 output driveshaft flange. Best availability & pricing for these cores due to the high production numbers over a decade. The "Durango & Jeep" version of the 8HP is almost identical to the "Truck" version, sharing the same bellhousing but has two small differences. CV style output flange requires adapter for 1350 U-Joint. Transmission line ports are threaded instead of smooth bore like the "Truck" version. The "Charger/Challenger" version of the 8HP has four slight differences that add complexity to the installation process. Starter fitment requires cutting the bellhousing for OEM starter fitment. Alternatively an unshrouded starter may be used without modification. The output flange is not compatible with 1350 U-Joints. One small modification is optional but recommended for potential exhaust downpipe fitment. Mod # 3 – Cut/Grind 6R80 exhaust mounting bosses on RH side of Bellhousing for more exhaust room. Necessary Tools for Mod # 3 = Die or Angle Grinder with Cut or Flap Disc/Carbide Burr/Grinding Stone etc. Can I use a different Ford 6R80 or ZF 6HP Torque Converter? No other 6R80 or ZF 6HP converter are compatible due to various differences in design. These differences include; overall converter height, mounting pattern, input & stator shaft spline count. This kit is ONLY Compatible with 15-17 Ford Mustang 2.3L Eco-Boost 6R80 Torque Converters. What about my transmission cooler setup? Our kit comes with everything else needed to add an aftermarket cooler or adapt your existing setup. 8AN PTFE Line Kit/Fittings, 6R80 ORB Adapter Block, OE Coolant block offs provided make the job easy. The only thing that needs to be ordered is the cooler core itself and inline thermostat (if desired). We recommend a 19 Row Cooler mounted in front of the radiator with a 165F thermostat. OEM Cooler can be adapted but we don't recommend this because its inadequate to handle the heat generated. Direct consultation provided for this process to accommodate all customers! Is this compatible if my E-Series N54/N55 car is Manual, DCT or AWD 6HP? Yes but ve hicles with Manual, DCT or AWD Transmission will require additional parts, coding, wiring and labor.
